1) Follow steps 1 to 5 of “How to create vertical trends using Scadapro Server or Client” to get your channels ready for logging.
2) Select Loggers in the main menu and choose a logger

3) Select the”Text” tab. Enable text logging. Enter your information for your header in the white space below header. To enter a predefined message, click “Add”, then enter your message in the “edit text message” box and click OK. You can choose to add multiple messages by clicking “Add” again.

4) Follow steps 7 to 19 of “How to create vertical trends using Scadapro Server or Client” in logging your channels and creating your trend. Making your trend vertical, step 15 & 16 is optional.
5) In trends, Click the “Options” icon on the trends tool bar or select “edit” in the main menu & click “trend options”.

6) Make sure the “header text” is ticked and there is a number in the “no. header text line” box that matches the number of text lines you wrote for your header. Too less and text will be missing. Too much and there will be an unnecessary space. Click Apply. Click OK

7) The header appears above the trend.

8) Return to trend options. If you may wish to keep the logged text outside the graph then make sure the “logged text outside graph” box is ticked. Then enter a number in the “No. Logged Text Chars” corresponding to the largest line of text you will enter. This number is important if you have decided to log text outside the graph because if the number is too small then text will be missing and if too large then there will be an unnecessary space.

9) This step is necessary if you wish to see your logged text within the graph. Click the “Tracks tab”. Click to tick the first box underneath Logged Text. Close the “Trend Options” box.

10) Right click the trend, click enter text log.

11) Select “Predefined”, then click the down arrow below predefined. The text you entered earlier in the predefined message in “Step 2” will appear. Select the message you want to appear. To enter text that is not available in the predefined drop down menu, select “Manual” and then enter your message. (This message will appear when you return to the “Enter Text Log” box and click the down arrow underneath Manual.) Then choose to enter the text at a time on the trend of your choosing or at the current time. You also have the choice where to position it within the graph, from 0 to 100% height wise Click OK.

12) Here is the finished trend with text logged within the graph and outside the graph.
